The lesson of this project is to teach students how to save and spend money wisely. It is so importnat now a days to manage our money and do the best that we can with the amout of money that we bring in our household.

I plan on doing a lot of real investigation problems at home and at school. Connect it to their own lives and make goals for themselves for the future.

MATH STANDARDS:
Number sense and operation: Concept Understand and apply numbers, ways of representing numbers, the relationships among numbers and different number systems.

PO 16. Identify money by name and value:penny, nickle, dme, quarter, half-dollar, dollar.
PO 17. Count money through $1.00 using coins.
PO 18. Identify the value of a collection of coins using the symbols ยข and $.

The students will be able to identify the different types of coins, what their values are, but most important they should be able to learn how to save their own money for their own use without having to borrow samll amounts of money.
